Abstract
Implementing GIS for the Clean Water Act in Memphis, TN
Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater
Authors: AJ Robinson
The City of Memphis, to comply with EPA standards; is assessing and improving aging infrastructure in the sanitary sewer system. GIS was chosen as a powerful and cost-effective solution to manage iCIP efforts. Facility conditions are determined and mapped into a custom network model. This model is used to manage engineering activities, perform spatial analyses, automate reporting, and assist with high level GIS such as hydraulic modeling.
