Abstract
The Neglected Spatial Aspects of Quality Control in Mining
Track: Mining
Authors: Antoni Magri, Carolina Magri
Quality control based on the statistical analyses of duplicate field samples usually neglects their spatial location. However, the spatial component of the samples provides additional information, such as hot spots where industry standards are not met. ArcGIS's mapping and spatial statistics tools were used to analyze data from different mining operations. The results are presented and discussed in light of the expected levels of error and potential economic loss.
