Abstract
Peering Down the Educational Pipeline: Data for School Feeder Patterns
Track: Statistics
Authors: Rodrigo Costas, Tai Phan
Spatial associations between schools of different grade levels are important predictors of student success, but systematic data about these matriculation patterns are difficult to acquire. The National Center for Education Statistics’ School Attendance Boundary Survey defines school-level geography and supports the analysis of school feeder patterns. This presentation reviews the survey collection, explains how the data are organized, and discusses how the boundaries can be analyzed.
