Abstract
Monitoring Restoration Efforts through Remote Sensing (MRERS)
Track: Tribal/Indigenous Programs
Authors: Andrew Stratton, Erin Riley, Alonzo Wilson
The MRERS project 1) investigates interactions between hydrologic and geomorphic processes with restoration efforts (blocking of erosion channels, replanting) and 2) studies the effectiveness of using remote sensing imagery (balloon and aircraft) to monitor changes in vegetation and geomorphology at a Native American cultural site. The project provides research experiences to SIPI students, is relevant to Tribal communities, and builds capacity in geospatial technology and natural resources.
