Abstract
Python – It’s Like Having an Extra Person to QA/QC Data
Track: National Mapping
Authors: Jennifer Holland
The Fort Worth District of USACE was tasked with providing QA/QC support for GIS data for 400+ U.S. Army Reserve sites. Each site contained required feature classes and attributes. Automating the QA/QC process through Python scripting was quickly identified as a way to accomplish the project goals. The Python tools check for missing data, errors, topology and other items. Using the tools with a review by a GIS analyst resulted in a complete review of the data and a high quality dataset.
