Abstract
Transforming MCDOT’s GIS-based Transportation Asset Inventory System
Track: Public Works
Authors: Steve Hossack
Maricopa County DOT currently uses a legacy asset inventory system to catalog over 2,400 miles of roadway. Due to outdated technology and limited integration with various databases across the agency, MCDOT users developed independent and often inconsistent data silos. To resolve these issues, MCDOT has chosen Roads & Highways as their common platform for linearly referenced roadway data, to centrally manage their asset inventory and to integrate with an Enterprise Asset Management system.
