Rutherford County Tennessee Cemetery Mapping Project

The goal of the Historic Cemetery Survey was to digitally map our cemeteries. GIS was the key. Using ArcGIS Online, we created a point service in ArcGIS server with attachments & loaded the Collector App to two iPhone 5s. It took 18 months to collect points & photos of 762 cemeteries. This project produced a printed brochure, a Storyboard, & the data is served to every county office & the public. Our cemeteries are important to our present & future planning endeavors, & our heritage.
