Building Information Models & Map-matching for Indoor Navigation.

Building Information Models can be used to assess indoor positioning systems and improve indoor navigation algorithms. When assessing IPSs, the realistic walking distance between the estimated and current positions is calculated considering the architectural elements. Second, the geometric & semantic information about buildings and Map-matching techniques improve the indoor navigation algorithm. ArcGIS serves as the underlying geospatial infrastructure to support the indoor positioning system.
