Abstract
Merging American Community Survey Data to School Attendance Boundaries
Track: Statistics
Authors: Jessica Menza
The National Center for Education Statistics collects school attendance boundaries within school districts and collaborates with the Census Bureau to produce demographic, social, and economic characteristics from the American Community Survey for these areas. This presentation explains the custom tabulation process including connecting unique geographies to Census blocks using GIS tools, and how the resulting school data can be accessed and used to answer questions about local conditions.
