Moving to the Cloud: Lessons Learned from a Municipal Electric Utility

The North Attleborough Electric Department has moved their on premise virtualized GIS server environment to the Cloud utilizing Amazon Web Services. The purpose of moving GIS to the Cloud was to create an environment for Data Disaster Recovery, in addition to, establishing a Pilot project for the feasibility of moving and operating other Business Systems from the Cloud. This presentation will give an overview of the migration process and highlight the many lessons learned throughout the project
