Using GIS to Create Safe Walk Routes to Schools for Washington's Kids

The Safe Walk Route mapping application utilizes ESRI’s ArcServer and the Silverlight API. This application allows school districts to map school speed zones, the safe walk route area around each school, the location of stop signs, stop lights, safe walking paths/trails, crosswalks, and crossing guards. With the Safe Walk Route mapping application, school districts can now create safe walk route maps for each of their schools and help kids in Washington State walk to school safely.
