Abstract
Understanding Water Quality in City Water Systems Using ArcGIS
Track: Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater
Authors: Jennifer Switzer
This project seeks to improve our understanding of the impact of various factors on residual chlorine levels and water quality using geospatial asset data in the ArcGIS environment. Path distance analysis, regression analysis and diffusion interpolation are used to evaluate the impact of pipe characteristics, system capacity and design on residual chlorine decay as water travels from the source to customers. A simulation model will be used to reveal spatial trends and predict areas of concern.
