Cape Cod’s destination economy is strong but decades of sprawl turned historic developments into outdated economic relics and their future is creating tension between local policies promoting development and regional policies necessary to keep a special place special. The Cape Cod Commission created an Applied Community Economics geospatial application allowing communities a flexible 3D form-based pathway to balance environmental and economic goals while identifying priority development areas.
