Driving is dangerous and safety is always the number one priority. When you discover there are faulty, potentially life threatening end treatments installed on guardrails all across the giant state of Texas, alarms go off. But where are the faulty end treatments and how do we manage resources to get them replaced as quickly as possible? You start with ArcGIS Online REST services and a custom ESRI Javascript API web application designed to collect the guardrail inventory data at highway speeds.
