Creating a Single GeoDatabase from 3rd Party Data Sources

Over the last few years Level(3) Communications has acquired a number of Fiber Companies. The systems used varied from AutoCAD to excel spreadsheets. Overall 80,000 miles of fiber were converted into a single Geo-database. This presentation will review the challenges that the team faced and the tools and process used to over come those challenges. Tools which include Arc Catalog, FME work bench, Python scripting along with some custom code.
