Assuring an accurate and complete address list for the United States and Puerto Rico is a critical step in the Census Bureau’s planning and conducting of each decennial census. Analysis of address and land use/land cover data indicate that in-office review methods can substitute for expensive in-field canvassing operations. Starting in October 2015, the Census Bureau is implementing in-office methods to validate the completeness of the address list for most of the nation.
