Residential neighborhoods in Houston’s communities are losing residential land to floods from natural disasters. This paper will identify causal factors from natural disasters in 2001, 2008, and 2015 to determine why certain communities are consistently impacted by floods. Utilizing spatial regressions on elevation, open ditch drainage, impervious cover, and proximity to floodplains/bayous, will help to predict where mitigation is most needed and any impediments to current improvements
