Due to the complexity of representation and interpretation and the lack of adequate data, most studies on accessibility have omitted job competition and matching from their measures of employment accessibility. This study adopts a method modified from traditional measures to assess employment accessibility based on job proximity, competition, and matching. It selects the eight-county Greater Houston region for an empirical study.
