ArcGIS Implemenatation of the Hyperfit Horizontal Curve Fit Algorithm

We created a Python based tool in ArcGIS combining horizontal curve detection and best-fit generation for safety evaluations of digitized road segments. An algebraic method for curve fitting, combined with customized Python functions and data filtering with the native ArcGIS topology tools, allows for quick processing and low-bias solutions. The system detects curves and generates results for large datasets in minimal time, and provides a solution in the commonly-used ArcGIS platform.”
