Calculating a Utility's Total Population

Population projections are important to the planning efforts of a large utility, such as California Water Service (Cal Water). Using GIS, Cal Water can get a very close representation of a districts population with the use of census block, zoning and land use, and District boundary data for use in Cal Water’s Urban Water Management Plans; key documents which describe and evaluate sources of supply, reasonable and practical efficient uses, reclamation, and demand management
