The U.S. Geological Survey National Technical Operations Center is working to improve our GIS processes using agile methodologies. Agile is ideal for GIS projects because agile assumes all factors are not known at the onset and works to adapt and deal with these changes while delivering quality products. GIS is spreading throughout organizations and consumers want more and more integrated spatial data. Agile is a method to meet these growing and rapidly changing needs.
