Rail Equipment Locator Maps for Los Angeles Metro Rail Department

Many U.S. cities are expanding or implementing Light Rail Transit to improve transportation system performance. This expansion has resulted in miles of tracks with thousands of pieces of necessary equipment to maintain and presents specific challenges for maintenance crews. The presentation will demonstrate how the development of a paper-based Rail Equipment Locator Map using ArcGIS tools has helped rail personnel locate track equipment at Los Angeles Metro.
