Using GIS to improve the Health of American Indians and Alaska Natives

This presentation will describe how the Indian Health Service utilized GIS to geospatially identify over 390,000 Indian homes with a goal of improving the transparency, accuracy and accountability of their program’s implementation. The presentation will describe how data was collected and how GIS was used to perform QA/QC. This presentation will demonstrate the advantages and strengths of GIS for use in improving governmental and non-governmental program reporting, management and oversight.
