Abstract
Examining the Current State of Practice of Opportunity Mapping

Recognizing geography’s influence on socioeconomic dynamics, social scientists have developed opportunity mapping models emphasizing place as a significant indicator of income inequality, racial segregation, and relative potential for upward mobility. Our paper examines the current state of practice of opportunity mapping, and demonstrates an alternative approach centered on Bayesian Network modeling, and proven causal influences.
