Utilizing GIS to Combat Fraud, Waste, & Abuse

The USPS OIG has been utilizing GIS to combat fraud, waste, and abuse within the Postal Service for over 3 years. In the last year, we have built a mapping solution for leadership to implement strategic planning for our agent locations, provided USPS with an optimization opportunity for passport locations, and assisted with pinpointing the source of mail theft. Utilizing summary tables, buffers, drive time, spatial analysis, business analyst data, and time enable data has ensured success.
