Enabling Digital Inclusion with Mobile Map Apps

Lands Dept HKSAR launched its first mobile map app, MyMapHK, in 2014 as on-the-go access to official maps and geospatial information of public facilities in Hong Kong and VoiceMapHK for the visually impaired in 2015. This presentation discusses how development team leverages latest mobile GIS technologies and various geospatial information to bring better living to the Hong Kong citizens and the underprivileged; and the challenges encountered during the implementation and deployment of the apps.
