Maks GIS based Spatial Address Registration System

Republic of Turkey Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Civil Registration started the “Address Registration System” (AKS) project in 2006. The AKS system was established to electronically store the address and other residence information of Turkish and foreign residents in Turkey. The project MAKS (GIS based spatial address registration system) was designed to populate existing address records of AKS with much needed spatial format.
