Vulcan Materials Company, the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregate, began a land based GIS in 2008, and in the 2010, an online viewer, VMap, was introduced. Over the years additional data sets have been developed as the user base has expanded. As mobile technology has grown, Vulcan is pursuing field applications for geology, mining, and environmental disciplines. These applications are using the Collector and Survey 123 applications.
