Growing pains at the Weipa Bauxite Mine in Australia

As one of the world’s largest bauxite mines entered the final approval stages for a major expansion project in early 2015, it became clear that spatial data for the existing operation and the project needed to be available to all stakeholders in a managed source of truth.
Hosting Portal for ArcGIS from the operation allowed the controlled data to be broadly distributed via web services, feature services, maps and apps to both desktop and web users.
