Abstract
Validating GeoJSON Data in Real-Time for Federal Crop Insurance
Track: Agriculture

Spatial gaps in the Common Land Unit GIS database prevents Authorized Insurance Providers from reporting 100% by geographic location. The USDA Risk Management Agency has developed the capability to receive GeoJSON data through web services, translate into an ESRI format, load into an ESRI SDE database, and validate in real-time for spatial and attribution soundness. Validated data is given a unique identifying code returned through a web service for use in issuing crop insurance policies.
