The Network Analyst is a powerful tool for spatial analysis and solving complex routing/distribution problems. Analysts from a wide array of fields and disciplines utilize this tool to solve delivery/pick-up/ gas/oil transmission lines. What works under the hood may be unknown to some. This paper looks under the hood and attempts to shed some light on what drives this complex yet user-friendly tool. The focus will be on explaining the algorithm in a simple way.
