In the rapidly changing healthcare industry, health systems are perusing a better understand of their population and business to improve care and reduce cost. A critical aspect of this strategy must include geography. However, HIPAA and other regulations nearly prohibit the full implementation of a GIS suite, especially as a self-service platform. This talk will review how a major health system has overcome these issues and made GIS an integral part of their BI and analytic strategy.
