GIS and the Pacific Northwest Trail

In 2009, the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail joined the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail, and several other long-distance trails in the National Trails System. The GIS needs for this trail are broad in scope. From thru-hikers planning their trips to planning efforts to local communities learning about the economic possibilities of a National Trail in their back yard, using ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online are essential for sharing the story.
