Hydrologic Modeling and Delineation using a UAS-derived 3D Point Cloud

In order to delineate 'Waters of the U.S.' of a remote harsh desert site, WRA utilized a UAS to collect ortho photos and create a 3D point cloud in Pix4D from which waters could be modeled. Using 3D/Spatial Analyst extensions, all potential drainages were identified and mapped prior to site visit. This allowed field crews to minimize time on-site in 100+ degree temps, and cut down on post-processing costs back in the office by letting them spot check modeled data using evenly-spaced transects.
