Abstract
Bridging Subsurface Geologic Databases with Cross-Sections in GIS
Track: Architecture, Engineering, and Construction
Authors: Eva von Thury
Padre collects subsurface data in the field for geo-envirionmental and geotechnical projects. The data is entered into a gINT database that Padre uses to make basic cross-sections that are pulled into ArcGIS to create high-level GIS plan and profile maps that display GIS surface features in the plan view and lab data, subsurface interpretations, and surface features on the X-section for GIS report quality figures of pipeline, levee, and highway alignments for engineering and geologic analysis.
