Abstract
Developing Spatial Data to Support Statistical Analysis of Education
Track: Statistics
Authors: Doug Geverdt
Geographic conditions impact educational outcomes, so the National Center for Education Statistics, in collaboration with the U.S. Census Bureau, provides unique data resources to help GIS analysts understand the spatial context of education. This presentation discusses two additions to the NCES spatial data portfolio: a geographic classification layer to systematically identify school and ZIP code locale, and a time series of composite school district boundaries to analyze the past and present.
