Transit Productivity of Park-and-Ride: Assessing with ArcGIS Tools

This paper uses ArcGIS tools, including Network Analyst, to analyze the effect Park-and-Ride lots have on the productivity of transit systems. Productivity is measured using both route-level and stop-level metrics.
ArcGIS tools are essential in determining whether Park-and-Ride facilities should be expanded. First, the connection of stops to Park-and-Ride lots depends on their proximity to the lots. Second, the effective catchment area of a Park-and-Ride lot depends on drive times to the lot.
