Southern Company embarked on a retool, reinvent and revolutionize strategy for implementing UAV operations across the company. With safety, savings and reliability as its primary goals, the company has set its direction and funding towards attaining best practices for UAS operations and data management. This presentation will cover lessons learned comparing UAS flights with other traditional means of collecting data and a proof of concept web solution for a UAS decision process.
