Fostering Economic Development with Workforce and Employer Mapping

Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) held a series of knowledge exchanges with local economic development staff to demonstrate MAG’s data and analytical capabilities available to member agencies. A key need that emerged was for greater access to employment and workforce data. MAG already produces an employer database, but partnered with Arizona State University to fill in the workforce component using alumni data. A series of analyses and a map viewer were produced as a result.
