Abstract
Fast-Running Geospatial Tools to Support Risk Analysis & Communication
Track: Emergency Management

We will provide an approach to support a timely evaluation of risk associated with consequences of hazardous chemical releases. In support of the US Coast Guard, we have developed a fast running GIS-based chemical dispersion modeling tool applying the SCIPUFF model in a server environment to translate time-based concentrations at defined sensor locations into fatality estimates, considering census data. Releases can occur at specific locations or along routes of transiting chemical inventories.
