Job Accessibility Analysis: An Integration of GIS and SAS Applications

In compliance with the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, SCAG is mandated to perform environmental justice analyses regarding benefits and burdens of proposed projects in the region. SCAG has conducted an analysis of distance-based job accessibility within one-mile buffer by developing an automated workflow using ModelBuilder and geoprocessing tools in GIS and SAS functions. SCAG has effectively created and analyzed job accessibility for 197 jurisdictions in a time and labor efficient manner.
