Major cities face an increasingly complex interaction of growth and transportation network capacity. In recent years, multimodal transportation safety has been in the forefront, with Vision Zero efforts initiated/enhanced in cities like the District. Technology and data limitations have hindered past analytic and knowledge exchange towards Vision Zero. Using GIS, the District is making safety data more accessible, understandable; lending to a more robust Vision Zero problem solving effort.
