Étang Saumâtre, the largest lake in Haiti, is land-locked with no outlet. Available data for the Cul-de-Sac watershed presented the eastern boundary aligned with the political boundary between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Overlay analysis of the watershed with topographic data indicated the drawn watershed to be erroneous. Re-delineation of the watershed, using ArcGIS Spatial Analyst hydrologic modeling tools, produced a watershed in accord with topography and extending across the border.
