Abstract
Regional Mapping of Potential Vegetation in the American Southwest
Track: Forestry

Creating large vegetation datasets requires negotiating obstacles such as variation in collection methods, scales, terminology, format, schemas of the inputs, and seeking consensus between interdisciplinary specialists that contribute to the project. Through 6 Plan Revisions and collaborative work with specialists in and out of the agency, the Southwest Region of the USFS has developed a regional potential vegetation product covering all of AZ and NM. This presentation chronicles that process.
