Using GIS for Water Conservation Rebate Programs

The SNWA's WaterSmart Landscapes program has provided rebates for the conversion of over 170 million square feet of lawn to water-efficient landscaping resulting in billions of gallons of water savings each year. A vital component of the program is the use of GIS. Rebates are paid directly to customers based on square footage converted & all rebates are calculated using ArcMap with custom layers, aerial photos, & historical shapefiles. Over $175 million has been paid using this GIS solution.
