Geocoding and Geospatial Analysis of the EHR

At our institution we found a growing need for geospatial analysis and geocoding of our patient population to perform location based analytics. We wanted to understand what types of socioeconomic challenges our patients are facing and how that might be impacting their health and access to our network. Our group built a process that geocodes our population on a daily basis. The entire organization now uses that data in an integrated application that runs within our EHR to do population discovery.
