Abstract
Extreme Modelbuilder: Prioritizing Riparian Gaps for Restoration
Track: Conservation
Authors: Cassandra Pallai, Conor Phelan
Sometimes, identifying general priority areas for conservation practices simply isn’t enough. To bridge the divide between geospatial analysis and on-the-ground work the Chesapeake Conservancy builds datasets, models, and web tools with a sub-parcel level precision. One of their latest tools can identify and prioritize small gaps along riparian buffers. This is accomplished by processing their high-resolution land cover and flow path data through a model containing over 125 geoprocessing steps.
