Abstract
Water Quality and Steelhead Trout in the Lower Santa Ynez River Waters
Track: Research & Sciences
Authors: Timothy Robinson
The Santa Ynez River watershed provides critical habitat for the endangered southern steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss). An aspect of managing the fishery is water quality and suitable habitat monitoring. GIS technologies allow for analyses of water quality within O. mykiss refuge habitats. Fisheries scientists can analyze water quality data and visualize temporal changes in association with O. mykiss population abundance/distribution within a climate of high intra-/inter-annual variability.
