Abstract
Defining the Geospatial Professional - Reaching a Consensus
Track: Education
Authors: Shannon Doyle
As the geospatial field continues to grow, so does a demand for professional-level geospatial employees. Currently, there is a lack of consensus in the field in defining geospatial professionalism. This presentation will examine the role of certification, education and experience in defining a geospatial professional, as well as a research methodology for obtaining a consensus among the geospatial community, which will help preserve the importance and relevance of certification and education.
