Abstract
A Means to Prioritizing Conservation Easement Suitability Using GIS
Track: Tribal/Indigenous Programs

Determining which parcels of land are the best choices for habitat conservation requires us to value the many characteristics of its composition and derive which are best suited for preserving. GIS enabled us to categorize, qualify and quantify spatial data so that we could distill complex layers of information into concise data simplifying the information. Linking Excel with ArcGIS we dynamically attributed points to the land characteristics of each parcel and ranked them in real time.
